“Anne Frank - The Musical” kicks off a new season in Mealhada

The show “Anne Frank - The Musical” is back in the north of the country for a second season, with performances in Mealhada, Porto and Bragança, until the first week of June. The production by Plateia d'Emoções, an artistic company from Vila Nova de Gaia, chose the Cineteatro Messias (Mealhada) to open this new cycle of presentations, with sessions today and tomorrow aimed at the school community and one open to the public, respectively.
The show's arrival in the municipality is one of the highlights of the city's culture, being the first stop on a tour that aims to once again move the public with the timeless story of Anne Frank.
With text and lyrics by Hélder Reis and music by André Ramos, the play features 16 actors, 20 scenes and 10 original songs, with a set design that recreates the secret annex in Amsterdam, where Anne Frank hid during the Second World War.
After Mealhada, Porto will be the next city to host the event on the 29th and 30th, with sessions at the Grand Auditorium of the Vilar Oporto Hotel, and Bragança, on the 6th of June, at the Municipal Theatre. In addition to the school performances, each city will have an evening session open to the public. The company also provides educational materials to schools, accessible via QR Code, to continue, in the classroom, the themes developed in the play.
The musical is part of the vast repertoire of Plateia d'Emoções, which produces around 150 shows annually, mostly aimed at school audiences.
